RESERVED 1940s Original Seascape Oil Painting by Vetold Pasternacki New England Coastal Art

Large vintage oil painting!

Beautiful original oil painting on canvas completed by artist Vetold H. Pasternacki and dating to 1946. A well known American artist, Mr. Pasternacki (1896-1966) was born in Detroit and studied at the John Wicker Art School in Detroit and later at the Academie Moderne in Paris. He held multiple exhibitions of his work throughout the years, including shows at the Salon D'Automne, Paris, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Detroit Institute of Art. He was a member of the Scarab Club in Detroit, and was said to have shared a studio with Rupert Conrad, another well known American artist.

This gorgeous yet moody painting presents a tranquil seaside harbor scene, seemingly at sunset. An oil on canvas, painting is signed "Vetold, 1946" at the bottom middle of the front of painting and on the reverse of canvas.

Painting is unframed and measures 32" wide by 26" tall.

Please note there are no holes or tears in the canvas, but the painting does show age appropriate wear. There are some spots of surface wear, light scratching, small areas of flaking paint, and patina to the surface of oil. Also, the wood framing has impressed into the front of canvas.
