Gorgeous, lyrical brushwork gives the male subject wonderful depth while the artist's use of varying tones and shadows evoke a realistic portrayal of the carved stone. The dark, saturated background provides marvelous contrast. A stately and sophisticated composition.

Painting is in wonderful vintage condition with some light surface wear. Painting has been custom framed, with the back wried for ease of hanging.
