Antique landscape oil painting!
Lovely 19th century oil painting on canvas signed by the artist in the lower right corner. A bit naive, the composition depicts a canal with an arched stone bridge, a grassy knoll with hens, village homes, and tall leafy trees. The surface is quite aged, rustic, and dark with the oil having a heavy layer of patina due to age and the canvas being a bit loose. Painting has been custom framed with a bright gold gallery frame that contrasts beautifully with this moody piece.
Painting has been newly framed, but you may view the painting in it's original, found condition, prior to framing in the last three photos.
Framed: 17 3/4" wide by 14 5/8 tall
Painting has a heavy layer of patina and darkening of oil, due to its age. There is also areas of surface wear and the canvas is not taught and rather slack, which is difficult to show in photos. Should you have any questions as to the condition, please feel free to contact me.
